Ken Kelly brought forward a body of work, Panorama, in 2022. These boldly painted abstract shapes and patterns extend on a vast scale, juxtaposing colors and setting off interacting regions of space that reverberate beyond the canvas’ edge. His works evoke “the same sense of wonder, awe, and mystery that I find in the endless panorama of the physical world.”
Ken Kelly has been active for over four decades in the development of his abstractions, which began as neo-expressionist, pop-influenced abstraction, and have, over the few years, developed into a highly personal architectonic/organic signature.
Kelly’s work was the subject of an exhibition at the Henry Art Gallery in 1989, and his work is in the collections of the Seattle Art Museum and the Tacoma Art Museum in Washington State, and the Portland Art Museum in Oregon.
